Medical Billing Specialist / Mastectomy Fitter

We are a mastectomy boutique in Orange, CT looking for someone to join our team! At Saxon-Kent Boutique we provide a comfortable, positive, and compassionate environment for our patients that are preparing for breast surgery or going through treatment and are in need of our services post-surgery and in the future. We provide mastectomy bras with pockets, breast prosthesis, custom-made breast prosthesis, compression garments, post-surgical bras, wigs, and head coverings. We are looking for someone who is caring, compassionate, and loves helping people that are going through some difficult times. Part-time to start approximately 20-25 hours.

Responsibilities

• Check insurance benefits for durable medical equipment/prosthetics and prior authorization when necessary
• Answer phone calls
• Provide patient consultations and education on products
• Direct hands-on contact with patients, taking measurements and fitting
• Out-of-office fittings for patients in hospitals/doctor's offices in CT
• Ability to work with people, making them feel comfortable and confident
• Willing to learn about new products, continue education, and embrace change
• Faxing over prescription requests on our patient's behalf

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Knowledge of insurance plans, coverage for durable medical equipment, orthotics, and prosthetics preferred but not required
• Previous medical billing and customer service
• Certified mastectomy fitter or the ability to obtain certification from an accredited agency ABC and or BOC within 1 year of employment.
